Texas Gun Sense advocates for policies that will build a safer Texas, while respecting the rights of responsible gun owners. In this panel, we’ll hear the views of Texans who own guns. The panel is made up of parents, veterans, hunters and those who own guns for personal safety. The panelists will discuss views about safe storage, background checks and gun violence prevention.

Panel Participants: 

  • David Dunn, the moderator of the panel, is the Board Chair of Texas Gun Sense and a longtime hunter and gun owner. 
  • Melissa Kellogg is a parent to a special needs teenager and a longtime gun owner. Melissa uses her firearms for hunting. 
  • Steve Kling is a Giffords Gun Owners for Safety Ambassador who served in the Army. He is a recipient of the Bronze Star, the Combat Action Badge and the Joint Services Commendation Medal.
  • Christina Delgado is a survivor of the Santa Fe High School shooting and the Southwest Regional Advocacy Associate for Community Justice Action Fund. She is also a gun owner.

This series brings together the many voices of the gun violence prevention movement in Texas to inform, discuss, and connect with other advocates. These events examine a variety of perspectives and ideas in order to chart a course for change.
