Survivors of the 2019 attack once again experienced the horrors of a mass shooting in their community, and last night, another Texan did not come home.
Texas has experienced some of the most high-profile mass shootings in recent years and an escalating gun death rate of more than 4,000 people annually.
Texas Gun Sense’s Executive Director, Nicole Golden, said, “It is an injustice for state leaders to allow our families to continue to suffer. The Texas Legislature is currently in session, and lawmakers have filed dozens of gun safety bills that would prevent gun violence while balancing the rights of responsible gun owners. Texas Gun Sense, our partners, and our supporters across the state demand that lawmakers cut through political division, give gun safety bills a fair hearing, and pass common sense legislation to save lives this session.”
Texas Gun Sense will continue to advocate for responsible gun policies until a future free from gun violence is a reality. The public can learn how to get involved at txgunsense.org.
