This year, Texas Gun Sense is launching a new webinar series, Education to End Gun Violence.
Our 2024 kickoff event is Beyond the Bench: SCOTUS and Gun Violence Prevention: A conversation about the role that the courts play in the GVP movement.
You may know that the Supreme Court recently heard U.S. v. Rahimi, a case that originated in Texas that dangerously questions whether abusers under protective orders should be able to possess firearms. Please join us to discuss the critical role of the courts in the gun safety landscape and ways that advocates can engage.
Our speakers will include:
- Shira Feldman — Director of Constitutional Litigation at Brady where she leads Second Amendment litigation and amicus work, and represents victims of gun violence against the gun industry.
- Shelli Egger — Attorney and Violence Prevention Advocate at Texas Legal Service Center.
- Jennifer Mandelblatt — Deputy Campaign Director at United For Democracy, a coalition of over 130 organizations calling on Congress to rein in the extreme Supreme Court.
