In 2023, we have lost too many fellow Texans of all ages to shootings and gun tragedies. Again and again, brutal acts of gun violence in the places we should feel safe have inflicted generations of pain and trauma on our communities — acts that our leaders have the power to prevent. We have had enough. We don’t have to live like this.
At Texas Gun Sense, we fight against the injustice that allows gun violence and tragedies to go unaddressed and advocate for common sense solutions. We are building a movement for a safer Texas.
This year, we supported the Uvalde survivors in pushing for a bipartisan committee vote on the Raise the Age bill (HB 2744) and successfully added a measure to the school safety legislation (HB 3) that requires school districts to educate parents about safe gun storage.
