As summer break comes to an end and kids return to school, read and share our Safe Firearm Storage Toolkit. You can help us spread the word about secure gun storage to prevent unintentional shootings, suicides, and other gun tragedies across the state.
Just days ago, 8-year-old Daniel Casares was unintentionally shot and killed in San Antonio, by his teenage sibling. His death is heartbreaking, devastating, and was entirely preventable.
There were over 300 unintentional shootings by children in Texas over the last decade. And far too often, those tragedies happen when a gun is left unlocked or loaded in a home.
That’s why we’re sharing our Safe Firearm Storage Toolkit — a resource for parents and caregivers, policymakers, and advocates.
It only takes a moment to ask: “If you own guns, are they stored securely?” It’s a simple, life-saving question that every parent should feel empowered to ask.
Together, we can make Texas safer by normalizing conversations about secure firearm storage and taking action to protect our kids.
Thank you for being part of this movement.
In solidarity,
