We’re proud to share the Texas Gun Sense 2025 Legislative Session Report — a recap of the challenges we faced, the momentum we built, and the work that lies ahead. Every Texas legislative session brings a new fight to protect our communities from gun violence, and the 89th was no exception.

“This session tested our collective resolve, but it also underscored the strength, strategy, and solidarity of the gun violence prevention movement in Texas.”

– Nicole Golden, Executive Director, Texas Gun Sense

Throughout the session, we tracked hundreds of gun bills, coordinated work with advocates, and ensured that survivors, young people, and healthcare professionals were heard at the Capitol. Together, we:

★ Stopped some of the most dangerous gun bills from becoming law

★ Drove over 8,000 emails to lawmakers

★ Held 18 events across Texas, including a powerful Advocacy Day

★ Launched 5 new digital tools for grassroots action

★ Testified in 12+ legislative hearings

★ Built and strengthened coalitions

While we also faced painful setbacks—like the passage of anti-ERPO bill SB 1362 and the legislature’s continued inaction on life-saving policies—we remain undeterred. This movement is growing stronger and more unified every day.

Join us in building the next chapter of advocacy, accountability, and action.

In solidarity,

Nicole Golden
