Texas Senators are voting soon on SB 1362 a dangerous bill that would prohibit Texas from recognizing other states’ Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs), a life-saving tool that prevents gun violence. We need your voice to stop it.
ERPOs save lives by allowing courts to temporarily remove firearms from individuals at risk of harming themselves or others. They have strong due process protections, and they work to prevent suicides, homicides, and mass shootings.
Yet SB 1362 threatens to undermine this lifesaving tool. This bill goes against what Texans want: 88% of Texans—including 81% of Republicans—support ERPOs.
